80% of Customers Still Use Desktop Computers to Find Office Moving Companies in Tampa, FL

Based on research about how our local Tampa customers find our website online, it looks like 80% still surf the web on their desktop computers — not cell phones or tablets.

While this may not be unusual, we thought that in 2018 more people would be using their smart phones to do Google searches for things like ‘office moving company in Tampa’ or ‘cubicle installation company in St. Petersburg, FL’…

“We think that, because our customer base is primarily other businesses, our customers are searching while at work,” says owner Trent Portner. “While their phones might be in their pocket or on the desk beside them, they’re using their main computer. It’s probably because their already doing work on the computer and hunting for a moving company is as simple as opening another tab on Google.”

So, 80% are still using desktop computers with 18% using phones and only 2% using tablets (like iPads) to do their online research.

“We really expected more customers to be searching ‘on the go’ or from home during after hours,” said Portner. “This news is a little surprising.”

Additionally, we’ve found that most searches are done within about a 100 mile radius North, South and East of our office. That encompasses areas from Ocala in the North, to Orlando in the East and then down to the Ft. Myers area.
