Will New Ferry Service in Tampa / St. Pete Impact Your Office Commute?
06 Jan 2016
The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports, “In a 5 to 1 vote, the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners threw their support behind a pilot program for a ferry service linking the downtowns of St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay.”
The question for many is, “will the new ferry (once is begins operations) impact my daily commute?”
Certainly that is all going to depend on where you live and where you work. For many who live in either Tampa or St. Pete, but commute across the bridges, it might make more sense to ‘hit the waterways’ and ‘let someone else do the driving.’
Can you imagine how beautiful some of the morning commutes might be as you head across the Tampa Bay?
For a company like ours, we hope that the ferry service strengthens the appeal of the downtown areas. We do a lot of work — specifically, commercial moves and office furniture installations — in buildings throughout downtown Tampa and downtown St. Petersburg.
We’re certainly in favor of efforts to make those areas even more vibrant and attractive to those companies leasing office space there (or hoping to relocate there).
