13 Things to Consider When Relocating Your Business in Tampa
27 Jun 2019
With thousands of commercial moving and office relocation projects under our belts, we certainly know a thing or two about what it takes to move a large group of people – and everything within the workspace – to a new office location.
But it’s always nice to see how others approach these corporate moves and what suggestions they might provide to make these moves easier, less stressful and more successful.
Small Biz Trends Magazine released an article titled 13 Things to Consider Before Relocating Your Company. You can read the entire article online here.
They convened a panel made up of startup founders from the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) and asked them, “what is one often overlooked thing I should consider before moving or expanding my company to a new city?”
The answers largely revolved around how to evaluate a new city for a move and what to look for within your new city that would be helpful to sustained growth for your company.
Here are the topics to consider when evaluating an upcoming move.
>> Is there ecosystem support?
>> What’s the cost of living?
>> What’s the minimum presence you need to have in the city?
>> Do regional habits match those of your company?
>> Have you done proper market research?
>> Yes – you can use Craigslist to learn about your area
>> Folkways – what are the local customs?
>> Remote possibilities – is it possible?
>> Current market standings – will you be the dominate leader in your category?
>> Sales time – can you gain clients within an acceptable timeframe?
>> Core leader candidates – how does hiring potential look in the area?
>> Travel expenses – what’s the cost of travel in, out and within the city?
>> Have you considered the expectations of your current and future employees?
