What To Consider When Choosing A Location for Your New Office Space

Moving Office Spaces in Tampa?
There are some things you’ll want to consider (a lot actually) but one consideration might be how your location of the new office space impacts your employees and your clients.
Good public transportation links
This may or may not be a consideration for your company and will depend on how your employees get to and from work. If your employees do take public transportation, it very well may dictate where you look for new office space.
Easy for clients to visit
Some organizations have their customers and clients come into the office. Some do not. Will the office have easy access for visitors?
Easy for you to visit clients
Likewise, will you be able to get to your clients and customers if they need you to visit their locations? This may not matter for most businesses, but for many service oriented companies, being in a centralized location within their coverage area can be very important.
Realistic commute for existing employees
We often hear from business owners that one of the main factors in choosing their office space was so that employees could have a reasonable commute (generally 40 minutes or less). That can be a tough thing to plan out in an area as widespread at the greater Tampa Bay area. Driving from St. Pete to Brandon or Clearwater to downtown Tampa can take some time, especially during the commuting hours!
Local amenities
Employee satisfaction is a common concern for many employers (as it should be!). Choosing an office location that’s close to restaurants, shopping, etc can be important (and also minimize the amount of time employees leave for lunch or errands).
Good access to major roadways
Again, easy access to and from work is important to you and your employees. Also, if your organization makes or receives deliveries, you may want to consider your location closely.
Excellent access to major airports
This is probably less important for most organizations, but could be a major focal point for some. Easy access to catching flights (or picking up clients/customers) make be a big factor for some.
Access to a ‘talent pool’ of potential employees
Ahh…most people overlook this when choosing a location. You can’t expect to put your warehouse in one location but attempt to pull employees from elsewhere.
Parking
Is parking free? In downtown Tampa or downtown St. Pete, will you need offer employees a parking allowance (or expect them to pay for their own parking)?
