Consumer confidence up in Tampa, Florida – does that affect company office moves?

With consumer confidence continuing to move upwards in Tampa and across Florida, is that a sign that small businesses and mid-size and larger businesses will begin to expand their office sizes?

Will they seek out new lease options and relocate across town? Will they rearrange their current office? Will they add space in another part of their building?

University of Florida survey which tracks month-to-month consumer confidence showed a two point rise in May.

The report hit its highest level since before the economic meltdown of 2007. The rating ranges from 2 to 150 and is bench-marked against the original rating of 100 tallied in 1966, the Associated Press said.

This is yet another sign that there is optimism in Florida, said Chris McCarty, director of the survey. 

Normally the summer time is a good time for office moves as business is generally slower and more casual. Decision makers at companies feel like they can take the ‘time off’ that a move can sometimes require.
