HSBC Bank To Lay Off 357 Employees
03 Apr 2017
As reported today, April 3, the “banking giant HSBC is laying off 357 employees from its Brandon offices in early June.”
The company informed the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity with a letter outlining the affected positions. Apparently the positions will not be refilled leaving a large number of banking employees without jobs for the second half of 2017. Very simply, the loss of 357 in Brandon is pretty impactful.
So far, there are no updates on what HSBC plans to do with its office building and furniture. Often after a layoff, assets are downgraded as well.
