Industrial Construction Tops 2.6 Million Square Feet in Tampa Bay

One positive for the greater Tampa Bay economy – industrial construction continues to grow in 2020 with over 2.6 million square feet.

According to BuildRite Construction, Industrial Construction “is a very specialized, niche construction vertical that deals mostly with the construction of factories, power plants, warehouses, and other highly specialized facilities. Industrial construction also includes the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and structural components in these facilities.”

Along with increases in commercial construction and residential construction in the Tampa Bay area, this indicates positive signals that the local economy is getting back on track after a downturn caused by the Cornavirus pandemic. MarketWatch reports that housing construction permits are also increasing.

These positive signals result in consumer and business confidence, sending many back into Tampa office buildings as businesses large and small ‘get back to work.’

At Office Movers of Florida, we’ve noticed the increase too – calls to our office have increased in May and June as business owners and decision makers schedule office moves and furniture installation projects. In the last week we’ve been contacted by a local Tampa advertising agency looking to move large pieces of furniture around their existing workspace, a St. Pete travel agency needing to move furniture to new space as well as storage and a medical company looking to consolidate two office locations into one larger space.
