Office Depot and Office Max look to merge – what it means for your Tampa business
19 Feb 2013
Two of the big office supply companies, Office Depot and Office Max, are talking about a new merger.
This new company would challenge Staples, currently the biggest office supply company in the U.S. which had $25 billion in revenue (wow- that’s a lot of revenue!).
Why should this merger matter to your business?
For many companies here in Tampa Bay that spend a lot of money with Office Depot (or Office Max in Sarasota), the merger should eventually drive down prices somewhat as the company will want to be more competitive with Staples. If a merger does occur, it’s probably worthwhile to make sure your account with Office Depot or Office Max does not get lost in the shuffle – you should reach out to your sales rep if you have a corporate account.
Why does a merger like this matter to Office Mover of Florida?
We move a lot of office furniture for local Tampa area companies who order their desks, workstations and other equipment from Office Depot and Office Max. Quite often, we’re hired to move furniture into offices and around the building when new items are delivered. This happens when our clients expand due to employee hires or decide to upgrade office equipment.
